Diagnosis. Face pale yellow, without spot. Antenna blackish brown except 1st flagellomere pale yellow on apical 1/2. Mesoscutum with a pair of brownish median stripes. Wing only with a pale brown elliptical spot on dm-cu. Abdominal tergites 3–5 each with a blackish brown posterior band, and a blackish brown triangular median spot confluent with the blackish brown transverse band; tergite 2 and 6 each with a blackish brown median spot.

Head pale yellow. Face pale yellow, without spot. Frons about as long as wide and parallel–sided, with two narrow brown stripes along inner margin of or rows and a narrow brown triangular median stripe, extending to ocellar triangle; ocellar triangle grayish black; oc strong, slightly shorter than anterior or, posterior or absent. Occiput with a wide grayish black stripe confluent with ocellar triangle. Gena about 1/5 height of eye. Antenna blackish brown except 1st flagellomere pale yellow on apical 1/3–1/2, 1st flagellomere 1.8 times longer than high; arista long plumose, black except brownish base, with longest hairs longer than height of 1st flagellomere. Proboscis pale yellow except brown at tip, with yellowish hairs and blackish hairs; palpus pale yellow with blackish hairs.
Thorax brown with whitish gray pollen. Mesoscutum with a pair of indistinct brown median stripes, with 0+3 dc (anterior dc clearly behind transverse scutal suture), acr in 8 somewhat irregular rows; prsc shorter than 1st post–sutural dc. Anepisternum and katepisternum pale yellow, anepisternum with a large blackish brown mdian spot and katepisternum with two blackish brown spots respectively on anterior and posterior basal corners. Scutellum black except yellow apical margin, with whitish gray pollen. Legs mostly yellow, but all tarsi slightly brownish yellow except tarsomere 5 brown on apical 1/2; hind tibia with an incomplete brown basal ring. Fore femur with 4 strong pv and 5–6 pd, ctenidium with 10–12 short bristles; fore tibia with 1 long preapical ad and 1 short apv. Mid femur with 4 a and 1 apv; mid tibia with 1 strong preapical ad and 3 strong apv. Hind femur with 1 preapical ad; hind tibia with 1 weak preapical ad and 1 short apv. Wing ( Fig. 5 View FIGURES 1 – 11 ) slightly yellow, with only a pale brown elliptical spot on dm-cu; subcostal cell hyaline; costa with 2nd (between R1 and R2+3), 3rd (between R2+3 and R4+5) and 4th (between R4+5 and M1) sections in proportion of 1.8 mm: 0.6 mm: 0.3 mm; r-m before middle of discal cell; ultimate and penultimate sections of M 1 in proportion of 1.2 mm: 1.6 mm; ultimate section of CuA1 about 1/7 of penultimate. Halter pale yellow.
Abdomen yellow with sparse white pollen; tergites 3–5 each with a blackish brown posterior band, a blackish brown triangular median spot confluent with the blackish brown transverse band; tergites 2 and 6 each with a blackish brown median spot (tergite 2 without spot in some individuals). Male genitalia ( Figs. 32– 36 View FIGURES 32 – 36 ): protandrium circular with a long T–shaped ventral process in ventral view; epandrium very broad, cap– like in ventral view, surstylus consisting of a digitiform process with hairs and a small coniform process; hypandrium with a H–shaped ventral process, gonopod columniform; aedeagus curved laterally, with two pairs of ventrolateral teeth, a pair of dorsal median teeth and two pairs of contorted apical processes and a small apical incision in ventral view.

Distribution. China (Hainan).
Remarks. The new species is very similar to Homoneura (Homoneura) yunnanensis Li, Li & Yang from China (Yunnan) in the following characters: antenna blackish brown except apical part of 1st flagellomere pale yellow; all legs with tarsomere 5 brown on apical 1/2, wing with a pale brown elliptical spot on dm-cu; abdominal tergites 3–5 each with a blackish brown posterior band and tergite 6 with a blackish brown median spot; gonopod columniform, epandrium broad; surstylus consisting of a digitiform process with hairs and a small coniform process. But it can be separated from the latter by the proboscis being brown at the tip, the mesoscutum having two indistinct brownish median stripes, the protandrium having a long T–shaped ventral process in ventral view, the aedeagal dorsal sclerites being contorted in lateral view. In H. (H.) yunnanensis , the proboscis is yellow, the mesoscutum has no brownish median stripes; the protandrium has no ventral process in ventral view, the aedeagal dorsal sclerites is straight in lateral view ( Li, Li & Yang, 2008).
Etymology. Latin, latissima , meaning very broad, referring to the epandrium being very broad; a feminine adjective.
