Thus, 12 species from 6 genera of three Cossidae subfamilies ( Cossinae , Zeuzerinae , Politzariellinae ) have been found on the territory of Burundi. Of course, this list is not final, new research should reveal at least 10 Cossidae species in the fauna of Burundi. No endemic species has been found. As expected, the core of the fauna are the complexes of the Central African species: Mirocossus haritonovi Yakovlev, 2011 , Azygophleps albovittata Bethune-Baker, 1908 , Azygophleps boisduvalli (Herrich-Schäffer, 1854) , Holcoceroides ferrugineotincta Strand, [1913] and more common East Central African species: Brachylia reussi ( Strand, 1913) , Strigocossus moderata ( Walker, 1856) , Strigocossus ochricosta ( Fletcher, 1968) , Strigocossus tandoensis ( Bethune-Baker, 1927) , and Azygophleps junkeri Yakovlev & Witt, 2017 .
