Heteropsis angulifascia clade
In the sampling of Aduse-Poku et al., (2015, Fig. 1 View FIGURE 1 ), Ht. angulifascia ( Butler, 1879) , Ht. ‘ anceps ’ (= Ht. oberthueri ), Ht. turbans and Ht. sabas formed a well-supported molecular clade. This clade, nested within the Ht. strigula sub-group, and named after Ht. angulifascia , also includes the described species Ht. anceps , as well as at least five undescribed species, four of which are introduced below. Morphologically, the group features some degree of dorso-ventral flattening of the gnathos, in its extreme forming bizarre, cupped, ear-like structures unique in the Mycalesina , either side of uncus.
