Described upon a female from Maria Basti in Bhoutan (MNHN), only few additional specimens are recorded to date.

Material examined: 1♀ pinned: “Museum Paris / Bhoutan / Maria Basti / R.Oberthür 1900”//” Barcinus / bhoutanensis / Usinger & M. / Det.N.Kormilev 72” ( CEHI ex.coll Kormilev). This specimen is from the type locality but was overlooked and not included in the type series . 1♀ card mounted: “ West Bengal / Kalimpong 1400m / 6 IV 99 E.Heiss ” ( CEHI) ; 1♀ pinned: “ Xizang , Tibet / Motuo 14 VIII 2003 / Ren Guo Dong lg.” ( CAU) ; 1♀ pinned: “ Yunnan , Gongshan / 3 IX 2006 / Linye lg.” ( CAU) .

As the description of Barcinus bhoutansnis by Usinger & Matsuda and the resdescription by Bai et al. 2006 are already very detailed, only measurements of examined specimens are added.

Measurements: Female from Bhoutan and West Bengal: length 13.6– 13.6 mm; l/w head 24/19.5–23/ 18.8; w/l pronotum 50/22–50/23; w/l scutellum 25/16–25/17; length antennae I/II/III/IV = 22/11-/-/ - 22/11/ 25/8; ration l antennae / w head 3.57; w abdomen across tergite IV 75–75, VI 66.5–67, VII 43–45.

Distribution: The geographical distribution of this species seems restricted to the Eastern Himalayan mountains and ranges from Bhutan and Sikkim to Xizang and Yunnan provinces in China. Map 1.
