Subfamily Polynoinae Kinberg, 1856 View in CoL
The species considered here have repeatedly been included in the subfamily Harmothoinae Willey, 1902 (e.g. Pettibone, 1993b). We follow Muir (1982) in using the subfamily name Polynoinae Kinberg, 1856 as according to the International Code of Zoological Nomenclature (International Commission on Zoological Nomenclature, 1985; principle of coordination §36) Polynoinae Kinberg, 1856 has priority over Harmothoinae Willey, 1902 .
