Status: Introduced synanthropic species.

Galápagos distribution: Isabela (Volcán Sierra Negra) (5), San Cristóbal (3) and Santa Cruz (10).

Vegetation zones: Occurs in all vegetation zones from arid zone up to summit fern-sedge zone. Also very frequent in caves located in the agricultural zone (CZ) of Isla Santa Cruz.

Altitudinal range: 30-780 m.

World distribution: In greenhouses and gardens in Europe (e.g. Copenhagen and Paris) and in other habitats in Brazil, Ecuador, Ruanda-Burundi, Angola, Sri Lanka, Mexico and New Zealand.
