Comments

Gorochov and Cadena-Castañeda (2015) commented that this species may belong to another genus. The species, together with G. (G.) janeirensis Bruner, shows some differences from the diagnosis of Grammadera : a misshapen epiproct, as stated by Br. V. W. ′ Segmentum anale m# valde difforme ' – that is, in Grammadera , the epiproct is quite long or large, with tubercles or prolongations that can form a flat expansion, whereas in these two species the epiproct is triangular and lacks any tubercle and expansion, additionally, the male cerci is quite long, and the tips are not globose and expanded as described in the Grammadera diagnosis. Gorochov and Cadena-Castañeda (2015) also pointed out the possibility that these latter two species belong to Viadana (Proviadana) Hebard , based on the morphology of the M veins and their ramifications; however, these two species do not have parallel R vein ramifications (see figs 186–197 of Gorochov and Cadena-Castañeda 2015), and must belong to a new genus. I do not propose a new genus in this contribution since the taxonomy of Phaneropterini at the genus level is quite confused, and only a systematic approach can bring a better resolution of this problem.
