Gonatopus neotropicus (Olmi) : nec Tetrodontochelys neotropicus ( Olmi): Olmi, 1993: 81. Pseudogonatopus pecki Olmi, 1991: 316 .

Variability. The surface of the head varied from fully smooth to weakly granulate. The surface of the pronotum also varied from smooth to granulate with a few striae on the sides (pronotum of examined paratype fully smooth, without striae). The surface between the striae of the metathorax+propodeum varied from smooth to granulate.

Material examined. 4 specimens. Type: ECUADOR: Paratype Ƥ of Pseudogonatopus pecki ( MZSP) , Morona-Santiago prov. Los Tayos, 3.VIII. 1979, Tjitte de Vries col. Other specimens: BRAZIL: 3 Ƥ ( MPEG, at MZSP), PA, Melgaço, Caxiuanã, YPT, A.P. Aguiar & J. Dias. Trail at igarapé Curua, 17–20.XI.2003, P05064. Trail at Estação Cientifica Ferreira Pena, 19–22.XI.2003, P05101; 22–25.XI.2003, P05155.

Distribution. Brazil (first record), and Costa Rica, Ecuador, Panama, Peru, Venezuela.
