Gonatopus aethiopicus Olmi 1984: 1619 .

Description. ♀. Apterous; body length 4.8 mm. Head black, except mandible yellow; antenna brown, except an- tennomere 1 yellow; mesosoma black, except two reddish spots on lateral regions of pronotum collar; metasoma black; legs testaceous-reddish, except coxae and clubs of femora brownish. Head excavated, shiny, unsculptured, except occiput and anterior region of frons granulate; POL = 7; OL = 7; OOL = 25. Palpal formula 6/3. Pronotum crossed by strong transverse impression, shiny, setose, unsculptured, except lateral regions granulate. Mesoscutum shiny, with some longitudinal keels without lateral pointed apophyses ( Fig. 207A View FIGURE 207 ). Metanotum excavated behind mesoscutellum. Metapectal-propodeal disc shiny, unsculptured, with median longitudinal furrow, sculptured by longitudinal keels; propodeal declivity strongly transversely striate. Mesopleuron not transversely striate. Metapleuron transversely striate. Meso-metapleural suture distinct and complete. Protarsomeres in following proportions: 20:4:6:26:38. Enlarged claw ( Fig. 204B View FIGURE 204 ) with one small subapical tooth and three peg-like setae. Protarsomere 5 ( Fig. 204B View FIGURE 204 ) with inner side proximally not serrate and two rows of 3 + 27 lamellae; apex with at least 10 lamellae. Tibial spurs 1/0/1.

Material examined. Type: ♀ holotype: ETHIOPIA: Shewa (= Shoa) Prov., Fiche, 1430 m, V.1947, K.M. Guichard leg. ( NHMUK) .

Distribution. Ethiopia.
