Type host: Lophura leucomelanos ( Galliformes : Phasianidae ). Type locality: Himalaya.
FEMALE (holotype and 7 paratypes). Total body length 455–465. Gnathosoma . Infracapitulum punctate. Stylophore apunctate, 135–140 long. Each medial branch of peritremes with 1–2 chambers, each lateral branch with 2–3 chambers. Idiosoma . Propodonotal shield weakly sclerotized, sparsely punctate laterally, deeply concave on anterior margin. Bases of setae se and c1 situated at same transverse level. Setae ve and si subequal in length. Hysteronotal shield present, fused to pygidial shield, bearing bases of setae d1 and terminal setae, setae e2 on or near this shield. Setae d1, d2 and e2 subequal in length. Setae f2, f1 and h1 subequal in length. Genital plate weakly developed. Length ratio of aggenital setae ag1, ag2 and ag3 1:1:1. Coxal fields I–IV apunctate. Setae 3c about twice as long as 3b. Legs. Setae tc”III–IV 1.2 times longer than tc’III–IV. Fan-like setae p’ and p” of legs III and IV with 6– 8 tines. Lengths of setae: ve 30–35, si 30–40, se 210, c1 240, c2 205–215, d1 20–25, d2 20–25, e2 20 –25, f1 30–35, f2 35–40, h1 25–35, h2 330, ps1 and ps2 15, g1 25–30, g2 25–35, ag1 80, ag2 80, ag3 80, l’RIII 20–25, l’RIV 20, tc’III–IV 35, tc”III–IV 40–45.
MALE. Unknown.
Type material examined. Lophura leucomelanos (Latham) ( Galliformes : Phasianidae ): holotype female and 7 female paratypes ( AMU –SYR.18) (cov.); HIMALAYA, no other data. Host specimen deposited in the MNHW .
Type material deposition. Holotype deposited in the AMU, paratypes in the AMU, SNM and ZISP.
Host range and habitat. Monoxenous species inhabiting quills of coverts of Lophura leucomelanos .
Distribution. Species recorded from Himalaya.
Remark. In the original description the type locality was not given (Skoracki & Sikora 2004). Re-examination of museum collection (MNHW) indicates that this host individual was captured in Himalaya.
