Lectotype (designated here):— BRASIL. Pará , s.d., Martius s.n. (lectotype: M 0241834 !; isolectotype: M 0241835 !, U 0004629 !).

Nomenclatural notes:— The protologue of Ficus crocata basionym does not indicate a type specimen nor the institution where the original material is stored. We have found two preparations collected by Carl P. von Martius and labelled Urostigma crocatum from Pará at the herbarium M. There is no clear indication from the label whether these two preparations are part of the same specimen or two distinct specimens sharing a single original label; therefore, and following Art. 8.3 from the ICN ( Turland et al. 2018), we consider these two specimens as duplicates. Based on this, we designate here the specimen Martius s.n. (M 0241834) as a lectotype because this specimen is better preserved and contains branches, leaves, and stipules.

Taxonomical notes:— Ficus crocata is an accepted species (e.g., Berg 2009, Ibarra-Manríquez et al. 2012, Carvajal 2012).
