Both sexes: head at least as high as wide (except for E. resplendens , the head of which is transversely elliptical in frontal view); pubescence of mesosoma relatively long and dense, usually brownish yellow in females (in fresh individuals). Male: membranous lobe of gonocoxite broad; gonostylus large, rounded or elliptical. Female: genal area coarsely and densely striate (except in E. clypeiferellus and E. villosulus , which have only traces of such a striation on the lower two thirds of the genal area) ...................................................................................... 22.
