Evinus angulatus View in CoL sp. nov. (Figs 1A–N)

Description. Length (including forewing). Male: 3.0– 3.2 mm; female: 3.2–3.4 mm.

Pale stramineous. Head and thorax marked with dark brown including several small paired symmetrically placed spots on crown and anteriorly on pronotum. Frontoclypeus light brownish with several pairs of dark brown markings. Gena and lorum with brownish markings, facial sutures dark brown. Mesonotum with dark anterolateral triangles small, anteromedial area and pair of posteromedial spots brown, without markings posterad of scutellar suture. Forewings with transverse veins white and most cells partly bordered with dark brown. Anteclypeus parallel-sided, ca. twice as long as wide, apex convex.

Male abdomen. 2T apodeme with posterior lobes not developed; 1S apodeme with submedial lobes foot-like, ca. 2.5 times longer than wide, dorsolateral extension bifurcate with dorsal branch narrower than lateral branch; 2S apodeme with submedial lobes short.

Male genitalia. Pygofer lateral lobe tapering caudally, ventral margin concave, posterior margin rounded. Subgenital plate short and broad, not reaching posterior margin of pygofer, posterior margin broadly rounded; lateral lobe attenuated and extended beyond dorsal margin of pygofer lobe. Connective elongate, Y-shaped with arms narrowly separated. Aedeagus with shaft abruptly bent ventrad subapically in lateral view, evenly tapered to apex in posterior view, constricted near base in ventral view.

Holotype: male, Thailand, Kamphaeng Phet Mae Wong NP Chong Yen, 16º 5.212’ N, 99º 6.576’E, 1306m, Malaise trap, 17–24.iii.2008, Piluek C. leg (QSBG). Paratypes: 1 male, 3 females, same data as holotype; 1 male, Thailand, Chiang Mai Doi Inthanon NP Campground pond, 18º 32.657’ N, 98º 31.482’ E, 1200m, Malaise trap, 2– 9.viii.2006, Y. Areeluck leg (INHS, NWAFU).

Remarks. This species resembles E. tenuis in coloration, but differs in having the anteclypeus parallel-sided and the apex of the aedeagal shaft abruptly bent.

Etymology. The species epithet refers to the abruptly bent apex of the aedeagal shaft.
