3. Eurya loquiana Dunn var. aureo-punctata Hung T. Chang (1954: 34).

Type:— CHINA. Hunan: Yizhang, Mang Shan, Lingziping, in valley, streamside, in dense forest, 1200 m, shrub, 3 m high, flowers green, 23 Oct. 1945, Shao-Qing Chen 2778 (lectotype IBSC-0003654!, here designated). Remaining syntype:— CHINA. Guangdong: Ruyuan, on the border of Niujiaolong and Babao Shan, on a hill, shrub, calyx green, petals 5, 5 Nov. 1934, Xi-Peng Gao 54766 ( IBSC herb. #106366!).

Two gatherings, Xi-Peng Gao 54766 and Shao-Qing Chen 2778, were designated as male and female “type” in Chinese, respectively, in the protologue ( Chang 1954). The leaves of the sheet Xi-Peng Gao 54766 bears a number of holes by insects before it was collected. We designate the sheet with better conditions as the lectotype. This species was originally described from Guangdong and Hunan and it occurs in Fujian, Guangdong, Guangxi, Guizhou, S Hunan, Jiangxi, SE Yunnan, S Zhejiang ( Ming & Bartholomew 2007).
