[ Eupithecia ] sinuosaria f. modesta Dietze, 1913, Biologie der Eupithecien 2: 110. Holotype ♂ (coll. K. Dietze in MNHU, examined), [ Kyrgyzstan]: Alai-Gebirge (Ferghana).
Eupithecia morosa Vojnits, 1976 , Acta zoologica Academiae Scientiarum Hungaricae 22 (3–4): 420, figs 4a–c, 5b. Holotype ♂ (ZFMK, examined), Oriental Turkestan [ Kyrgyzstan]: Semirechgensee Province, Fort Narine (synonymised in Mironov & Galsworthy, 2013).
Misidentification: Eupithecia hannemanni: sensu Vojnits, 1977 (nec Vojnits & de Laever, 1973).
Very similar externally to the preceding species, and was described as its pale Central Asian form. The male genitalia are distinguished from those of E. sinuosaria by a longer and broader plate-like cornutus and the presence of two dentate apical cornuti on the vesica of the aedeagus, as well as by the different shape of the eighth sternite. The bursa copulatrix in the female genitalia of E. pallescens has a larger spiniferous area which usually runs up to the colliculum, and the colliculum is shorter and narrower than in E. sinuosaria . E. pallescens is known from Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, south-eastern Kazakhstan, north-western China (Xinjiang) and Mongolia. It was first recorded for the Mongolian fauna by Vojnits (1977) as E. morosa Vojnits. Mongolia (aimags): Bayan-Ulgii, Govi- Altai, Khovd.
