2. Chromolaena elliptica (Hooker & Arnott) King & Robinson (1970a: 200) View in CoL . Eupatorium ellipticum Hooker & Arnott

( 1836: 240). Holotype:— BRAZIL. Rio Grande do Sul, no date, J. Tweedie s.n. ( K 000486789 [digital image]!)

= Eupatorium umbelliforme Dusén View in CoL in Malme (1933: 33). Lectotype (designated here):— BRAZIL. Paraná: Capão Bonito , 20 March 1915, P. Dusén 16853 (S-R-8982 [digital image!])

There are four collections of Dusén cited in the original publication of E. umbelliforme View in CoL as examined specimens: three from the state of Paraná, from Jaguariaíva (Dusén 16704) and Capão Bonito (Dusén 16853 and 16925) and one from the state of Santa Catarina (Dusén 17828), none of them was designated as a holotype. All collections are currently deposited in S. Dusén 16853 bears a label indicating it as a “lectoholotype” designated by R. M. King and H. Robinson, however, without any indication of date or publication in which the lectotype was designated. Therefore, this indication is not valid and there is still a need for typification, which compelled us to formally select here Dusén 16853 as a lectotype for E. umbelliforme View in CoL .
