Type:— ANGOLA. Distrito do Congo Portugues , Sumba, Peco, Flumen Zaire, 1924, J. Gossweiler 8969 (holotype BM [ BM000902362 ]; isotype K! [ K000312651 ]) .

Distribution:—In Congo (Brazzaville) only collected from the departments of Brazzaville and Kouilou. The species is also distributed in the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Angola.

Habitat and ecology:— Littoral forests; elevation ca. 8 ‒ 10 m.

Specimens examined:— Kouilou. Littoral congolais, 15 October 1962 (fl.), L. Makany 278 (P! [P05258154]). 42 km au N de Pointe Noire, Tchissanga, 3 October 1990, S. Lisowski B8041 (BR! [BR0000013443443]). Fouta, along coast southeast of Pointe Noire, near village of Fouta, 29 November 2011 (fr.), T. Kami 1297 (P! [P04884257], WAG! [WAG.1115691]).
