EOO: 516,602.176 km ². AOO: 40 km ². Evaluation of IUCN: Least Concern.
Eugenia rekoi has a wide distribution within the Mexican territory, besides occurring also in Guatemala. In Mexico the species can be found in seven states: Chiapas, Oaxaca, Guerrero, Tamaulipas, Morelos, Sinaloa and Jalisco, with altitudes ranging from 80 to 2,352 m elev. The occurrence biomes are the Humid and Seasonally Dry Tropical Forest, and Humid Montane Forest. The estimated extent of occurrence (EOO) and potentially its area of occupancy (AOO) based on the habitat available, fairly exceed the thresholds for a threatened category under the criterion B. There are 10 records found in different biomes, including a record within the “El Tepozteco National Park”, a reserve that is part of the “Biological Corridor Chichinautzin”, important for conservation and scientific study for the Central Mexico region ( DOF 1937, CONANP 2013). The habitat of this species is in good condition according to CONABIO (2018). Therefore, Eugenia rekoi is classified as Least Concern (LC).
