EOO: 2,931.103 km ². AOO: 12 km ². Evaluation of IUCN: Endangered.
Eugenia ledophylla is endemic to the Gulf of Mexico, and it has a restricted distribution in the state of Veracruz, in the Gulf of Mexico region. This species occurs in the remnants of the Humid Tropical Forest from 300 to 1,150 m elev. The estimated extent of occurrence (EOO) and area of occupancy (AOO) fall into the thresholds of the Endangered category under the criterion B. There are inferred only up to three known locations based on four records from Santa Cruz. There is an inferred continuing decline of habitat quality due to the high level of degradation caused by human activities that have strongly impacted the ecosystem and biodiversity of this state ( CONABIO 2018). Therefore, Eugenia ledophylla is classified as Endangered (EN) as it meets the criteria B1ab(iii)+B2ab(iii).
