The type series consisted of 2 ♂♂, 1 ♀ ( Buresch 1921: 164). The second male, originating from Huma Village and dated 1.IV.1918, is most probably lost. For stability of nomenclature and following Article 74 ( ICZN 1999) the male with identifier “NMNHS-INV-T-01006” is here designated as lectotype for Euchloe gruneri macedonica Buresch, 1921 . A junior subjective synonym of the nominate subspecies, Anthocharis gruneri gruneri Herrich- Schäffer, 1851 ( Abadjiev & Ganev 1990).
