Distribution and habitat: — Bolivia (Santa Cruz), Brazil (Distrito Federal, Goiás, Mato Grosso, Minas Gerais, Pará and São Paulo). Cerrado (rarely campo rupestre); 190–1000 m.

Taxonomic Notes: —The combination of grey tomentose stems, capitula fused for 1/2 of length and pilose nectary is diagnostic of this species. Its peduncles are slenderer and its cymes less dense than in Eremanthus glomerulatus and E. goyazensis .
