14. Eremanthus mattogrossensis Kuntze (1898: 145) View in CoL . Type:— BRAZIL. ‘Mattogrosso’ (now Mato Grosso), July 1892, O. Kuntze s.n. (lectotype: NY [NY00168379] designated by MacLeish (1987: 273); isolectotype: B †) ( Fig. 16 E View FIGURE 16 ).
Distribution and habitat: — Bolivia (Santa Cruz), Brazil (Distrito Federal, Goiás, Mato Grosso, Minas Gerais, Pará and São Paulo). Cerrado (rarely campo rupestre); 190–1000 m.
Taxonomic Notes: —The combination of grey tomentose stems, capitula fused for 1/2 of length and pilose nectary is diagnostic of this species. Its peduncles are slenderer and its cymes less dense than in Eremanthus glomerulatus and E. goyazensis .
