Type: — USA. New York: North Greenbush, on Sanicula marilandica , May 1885, C. H. Peck ( BPI 176505).
Sori in leaves, forming round or elongate to polyangular, amphigenous, flat, scattered or rarely gregarious, initially white later white-yellowish spots, 0.2–3 mm diameter or larger when confluent. Spores solitary, rarely in small scattered groups, globose, subglobose, ovoid, ellipsoidal to slightly irregular, 9–12 × 10–15 μm diameter [av. ± SD, 10.5 ± 1.6 × 12.8 ± 2.1 μm] with subhyaline content. Spore wall uniform, 1–1.5 (2) μm thick, hyaline to subhyaline, smooth. Anamorphic state present as fascicles of conidia and conidiophores, forming white, amphigenous cover.
