Valid name: Emballonura alecto ( Eydoux & Gervais, 1836)

Syntypes: ZMB 2538 (four specimens), skulls; Paracali, Luzon, Philippines; collected by F. Jagor, between 1857 and 1861 .

Comment: In the original description Peters provided no details on the number of specimens examined. Four specimens are available in the collections which likely constitute the original syntype series. Further syntypes are at BMNH (1907.1.1.568 and 1907.1.1.569) .
