Description. Size. Length of pronotum in male 1.38–1.50 (mean 1.45) mm, in female 1.79–2.11 (mean 1.97) mm.

Male structures. See under characters of the subgenus.

Colouration. Tegmina transparent with a very characteristic colour pattern: dark patches arranged in longitudinal stripes ( Figs. 5J, K View Fig ). Body mainly dark ( Figs. 5 View Fig A–I, N), with some lighter coloured areas: A narrow interocular stripe on the head, thoracal nota with broad transparent margins, legs for most part ochre, narrow whitish stripe along the lateral and posterior borders of tergites and the lateral borders of sternites. Lightly coloured areas often further extended, especially in females ( Fig. 5O, P View Fig ). Disk of pronotum often reddish ( Fig. 5O View Fig ), sometimes of all nota.

Distribution. In the center of the High Atlas, between Taroudannt in the West and Demnate in the East, at altitudes between 1400 and 2800 m (Figs. 28, 29).

Remarks. Two of the male characters show locality dependent variation: The size of the glandular pores on T2 ( Figs. 6 View Fig G–I) and the presence ( Figs. 6D, E View Fig ) or absence ( Figs. 6A, B View Fig ) of a row of strong bristles on the preglandular margin of T7 near the opening of the pit. The distribution of the characters is shown on Table 1 View TABLE 1 . Large glandular pores are usually combined with the absence of large bristles, and small pores with the presence of larger bristles. But the occurrence of intermediate expressions in both characters ( Figs. 6F, C and 6H View Fig , respectively) does not allow a clear limitation between the different populations; a further subdivision of the taxon, therefore, appears inappropriate.
