Type specimen. Holotype: female, Côte d’Ivoire, Gouédié , 25 km NW Man, Plantagen in Regenwaldfragmenten, 7°32′n. Br. 7°45′ w. L., ca. 620 mNN, 18 viii 1997 LF (125 W HQL), leg. T. Karisch, gen. slide no. GU-3890/ Karisch, in SDEI. GoogleMaps

Diagnosis. This new species is similar to D. mediolinea Park & Karisch , sp. nov. but can be distinguished by the forewing less elongated, ground color more grayish brown, antemedian band weakly developed. The female genitalia can be easily distinguished by the abdominal sternite VIII uniquely modified with heavily sclerotized median plate elongated distally and lateral lobes triangularly produced with sharply pointed apex.

Description. Female ( Fig. 11A View FIGURE 11 ). Wingspan: 13.5 mm. Head: Grayish white dorsally, brownish laterally. Antenna slightly shorter than forewing; scape elongated, dilated distally, dark brown dorsally; flagellum whitish, segments slightly dusted with brown basally, finely ciliate. Second palpomere of labial palpus slightly thickened, arched, whitish; 3 rd palpomere slender, upturned, a bit longer than 2 nd palpomere, yellowish white. Thorax: Collar brown at head, whitish towards thorax; thorax and tegulae whitish, mixed with brown scales. Hind tibia roughly scaled, whitish, the long spurs also whitish, shiny. Forewing ground color grayish brown; antemedian band whitish, only slightly dentate; postmedian band whitish, curved inwardly from CuA 1 to dorsum; costa slightly arched at basis; apex produced; termen slightly sinuous; fringe whitish, with light grayish-brown tips. Hind wing dark grayish brown, with an indistinct whitish marginal line from apex to median area, broadened at apex; fringe dark grayish brown, with a narrow whitish basal line.

Female genitalia ( Fig. 11B View FIGURE 11 ): Abdominal sternite VIII uniquely modified with heavily sclerotized median plate elongated distally and lateral lobes triangularly produced with sharply pointed apex. Ostium bursae concave. Antrum jar-shaped, sclerotized, length about 1.5 times the width, with convex lateral margins, about 1/6 the length of ductus bursae. Ductus bursae broad, long. Corpus bursae large, ovate; signum transversally elongated elliptical, less than 1/2 the width of corpus bursae, with broad median groove, plates nearly symmetrical, with dense short conical spines.

Male unknown.

Distribution. Ivory Coast, Montagne District.

Etymology. The species name is derived from the Latin, - ovarius (= ovary), referring to the egg-shaped signum in the female genitalia.
