Type material. Holotype ( Figs 1 View Figures 1–4 , 5 View Figures 5–6 ): male, “N- Vietnam, 1600m, Mt. Fan-si-pan ( Nord ), Cha-pa, Primärurwald [primary forest], 22°17'N, 103°44'E, 20–30.IV.1995, leg. V. Sinjaev [Sinyaev] & Einheim. Sammler [local collector]”, gen. prep. No.: ZSM Arct. 2021-011 (prepared by Volynkin) (MWM/ ZSM). GoogleMaps

Paratypes: 10 males with the same data as in the holotype (MWM/ ZSM) .

Diagnosis. The new species ( Figs 1, 2 View Figures 1–4 ) can easily be distinguished from other congeners ( Figs 3, 4 View Figures 1–4 ; also illustrated by Singh et al. (2019) and Volynkin & Černý (2021)) by its blackish- brown body and wing colouration. The male genitalia of D. infernalis sp. n. ( Fig. 5 View Figures 5–6 ) are most similar to those of D. nigrocribrata ( Fig. 6 View Figures 5–6 ) described from Nanling Mts (Guangdong, China) but differ in the broader juxta, and the longer and narrower valva with a narrower distal saccular process.

Description. Adult male ( Figs 1, 2 View Figures 1–4 ). Forewing length 12 mm. Antenna blackish-brown, ciliate. Body blackish-brown. Forewing elongate with subdistally convex costal margin. Forewing ground colour blackish-brown. Costal margin with orange suffusion medially. Medial line indistinct, blackish, angled on Cu. Hindwing blackish-brown with yellow dash along costal margin medially. Male genitalia ( Fig. 5 View Figures 5–6 ). Uncus short, gradually dilated distally but apically tapered, with small claw-shaped tip. Tuba analis moderately broad, membranous. Arms of tegumen dilated posteriorly, fused in posterior third. Vinculum shorter than tegumen, with short and apically rectangular saccus. Valva elongate and narrow, gradually dilated distally, with rounded and setose apex. Sacculus narrow, distal saccular process bulbous and densely covered with numerous tiny spinules. Juxta broad, rectangular with two elliptical lateral lobes. Phallus with long and narrow coecum curved ventrally. Vesica more or less globular, with short lateral diverticulum covered with numerous weak spinules, T-shaped distal diverticulum and granulose distal area. Vesica ejaculatorius basally dilated, directed ventrally.

Female unknown.

Distribution. Known only from North Vietnam (Lào Cai Province).

Etymology. The specific epithet refers to the unusually dark, ‘gloomy’ colouration of the species which is unique within the genus Dolgoma .
