The name refers to the montane type locality (see below).
Male
Frons brown, a little broader than high, with greatly reduced microsetae and 60 strong hairs. A pair of robust SA bristles; antials about twice as far apart as either is from an AL bristle, all four bristles being almost in a straight transverse row. POs a little further apart than either is from a ML bristle, which is distinctly lower on frons. Postpedicels a little longer than broad and brownish orange. Palps orange yellow and as Fig. 18 View FIGURES 18 19 . The orange brown labrum only half as wide as postpedicel. Labella pale. Thorax orange brown above and paler on sides. Scutellum with an anterior pair of hairs (as strong as those at rear of scutum), a bristle at each posterolateral corner, and another strong hair on the rear margin towards each side. Abdominal tergites mainly brown apart from being yellow on T1 anteriorly and laterally, on the anteromedian region of T2 and the anterior half (at least) of T6. Hairs minute and sparse on T1T5, except at rear of T5, and larger and more numerous on T6, which has long hairs at rear margin. Venter straw yellow with hairs below on segments 35 and 5 with a pair of bristles at rear margin. Hypopygium brown, with the T10/S10 ring and anal tube yellow. Legs yellow apart from brown dorsal edge to hind femur. Front tibia with 45 neardorsal spines. Mid tibia, apart from the basal pair of bristles, with a preapical anterior bristle and some small spines above this and beyond tip of dorsal hair palisade, which extends about 0.7x length. Hind tibia without preapical isolated bristles. Base of hind femur as Fig. 19 View FIGURES 18 19 . Wing length 2.7 mm. Costal index 0.53. Costal ratios 9.5: 3: 1. Costal cilia 0.08 mm long. Hair at base of vein 3 subequal to costal cilia in middle of costal section 1. Veins light brown, but 7 very pale grey. Membrane very lightly tinged grey. Haltere pale yellow.
