Habitat. Forests, in leaf litter, under fallen bark and rotten trunks.
Zoogeographical distribution type. Peregrine.
Distribution in Croatia. Distributed all over Croatia. Widespread in the Continental region and mostly spread in the western part of the Alpine and the Mediterranean regions. Distribution in Croatia. Less common than Dendrodrilus rubidus rubidus , but also found in all three regions. Šapkarev (1979): Veli Lošinj; Mršić (1984, 1985): Silnji gojzd (Biokovo), Varaždin, Štirovača (Velebit), Sv. Jura (Biokovo); Hackenberger: Jankovac (Papuk).
