Heterotypic synonyms: Cymbidium hennisianum Schltr. , Orchis 12: 46, 1918. Cyperorchis hennisiana (Schltr.) Schltr., Repert. Spec. Nov. Regni Veg. 20: 107, 1924. Type:— MYANMAR. Without locality: Nov 1917, cult. Hennis s.n. (holotype: B, destroyed).

Cymbidium longifolium auct. non D.Don: Lindl., Gen . Sp. Orchid. Pl.: 163, 1833; Hook.f., Fl. Brit. India 6: 13, 1890; King & Pantl., Ann. Roy. Bot. Gard. (Calcutta) 8: 191, pl. 254, 1898.

Specimens examined:— KACHIN. Putao District : 2285 m, 25 Sep 1953, Kingdon-Ward 21368 ( BM) . CHIN. Unspecified: Kirk s.n. ( K) ; Falam District : 2285 m, 10 Oct 1910, Venning 46 ( AMES, K) ; Mindat District : 1830 m, Kingdon-Ward 22725 ( BM) ; same loc., 1750−2700 m, 5 Dec 2002, Murata et al. 025172 ( MBK). WITHOUT LOCALITY. Type. Reported from Sagaing and Mandalay regions by Kress et al. (2003: 71; as Cymbidium erythraceum ), but we have not seen material from these areas.

Distribution:— Northern India, the Himalayas, Myanmar, Vietnam and southwestern China.
