Curruca languida Hemprich & Ehrenberg
Curruca languida Hemprich & Ehrenberg, 1833: 55 .
Now. Hippolais languida ( Hemprich & Ehrenberg, 1833) View in CoL . See Hartert (1909: 573).
Type series. Hemprich and Ehrenberg (1833: 55) based this species on a single specimen (see also Lichtenstein 1825, Nr. 75), which is thus its holotype.
Holotype: ZMB 4076, skin, unsexed, collected on an unknown date [= 18 May–6 August 1824] in “ Syrien ” (label) [= northern Lebanon].
Type locality. Curruca languida was described from “ Syria ” (see also Hartert 1909: 573, Vaurie 1959b: 249, Watson et al. 1986: 81), which agrees with label data and with an entry in the Inventory Catalogue of the ZMB. Knowing Hemprich and Ehrenberg’s itinerary, we restrict here the type locality to northern Lebanon between Beirut, Baalbek and Tripoli, where the holotype was collected during 18 May–6 August 1824.
