Diagnosis. Carapace of female with smooth ventral margin, uropodal peduncle 0.93 times pleonite 6 length, without lateral setae, endopod with 1 medial seta. Male uropodal peduncle 1.2 times pleonite 6 length, without lateral setae, endopod with 4 medial setae.

Remarks. This is the first record of the species from Puerto Rico.

Distribution. Cuba ( Băcescu & Muradian, 1977a) and Bahamas (Abaco Island) ( Petrescu, 1996), Belize ( Petrescu, 2002), U.S. Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico (present record). Depth range: 0.2– 71 m.
