Cryptorhopalum sordidum Sharp, 1902: 662 . Type material. 11 Syntypes: Lectotype here designated (male): „ Guanajuato “ \ “ Mexico, Salle coll.” \ „Type“ [red circle], (BMNH). Paralectotypes: (8 spec.): the same data as lecotype (7 BMNH, 1 JHAC); (1 male): “ Cordova ” [Sonora] \ “ Mexico, Salle ”, ( BMNH); (1 male) : “Guajuco, Nuevo Leon, Dr. Palmer ”, ( BMNH) .

Remarks. According the characters mentioned by Beal (1975, 1985) the species belongs to the C. triste species group.

Distribution. Species known from Mexico: Guanajuato, Sonora.
