COMMON NAME (S): Pebble Tiger.

SYNONYM(S): Noctua alienata Fabricius, 1787 ; Charilinea intercis Felder, 1874; Charilinea abyssinica Strand, 1912a ; Charilinea istsariensis Stoneham, 1963 .

IUCN STATUS: Not Evaluated (NE).

DISTRIBUTION: Angola, Benin, Burundi, Cameroon, Côte d’Ivoire, Democratic Republic of Congo, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Gabon, Gambia, Ghana, Kenya, Malawi, Mali, Mozambique, Nigeria, Rwanda, Senegal, Sierra Leone, South Africa, South Sudan, Sudan, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia, Zimbabwe.

LOCALITY IN ZAMBIA: Victoria Falls Region, in the Southern Province ; Lusaka and Kafue, in Lusaka Province.

LARVAL HOSTPLANT(S): Larval foodplants include a yet to be identified Malvaceae species namely, Corchorus sp.
