Type locality and specimens. Fundort [locality]: Okasise bei Okahandja, Deutsch-Südwestafrica [ German Southwest Africa]. ( ZINSKI leg. 1914. Hamburger Museum.) .
Dimensions. Länge bis [length up to] 65 mm.
Type material. Syntypes 3 ( ZMH-A0000616 , ZMH-A0009324-9325 ). NAMIBIA: Otjozondjupa Region, Okasise [21°53’S, 16°30’E] GoogleMaps .

Old type catalogue. Weidner (1960), p. 67, No. 33. Holotype.
Taxonomic remarks. Attems (1928) did not specify the number of specimens in his description and all specimens are syntypes.
Collection remarks. The town of Okasise was part of a former German settlement which was to become German Southwest Africa (Deutsch-Südwestafrica) from 1884 to 1918.
Current systematic position. Junior synonym of Cormocephalus multispinosus ( Attems, 1909) according to Schileyko & Stagl (2004: 98) who analysed variability within a larger series of this species.
