52. Cnidoscolus magni-gerdtii Fern.Casas, Fontqueria View in CoL 55: 175 (2004). Type:— BRAZIL. Bahia: Bromado: andados 15 km na rodavia para Rio de Contas , 15 May 1983, G.G. Hatschbach 46398 (holotype MBM-0082331 !; isotypes HUEF- 000001092!, MA-713805 !, SPF-174000 !).
Distribution:— Brazil (microendemic).
Notes:— This species is very similar to Cnidosolus bahianus , and a comparison of images of the two types suggests that they may represent variation within a single species. Fernández Casas (2004a) distinguished C. magni-gerdtii by having a glabrescent male perianth and ovary, as well as stinging hairs almost completely absent.
