Type:— TURKEY. C 9 Şırnak: Cizre, the intersection of Cudi and Gabar Mountains, Kasrik pass, rock crevices, 423 m, 37°23′46.09″ N, 42°10′35.77″ E, 20 October 2013, M. Fırat 30493 (holotype GAZI, isotypes ISTE, M!, VANF, Balýkesir Univ. Herb.)

Nomenclatural notes:—Given the degree of morphological differences to C. serpyllifolium , which is at least equally high as between C. barbatum and the latter (see Fırat, Akçiçek & Kaya (2015)), we feel appropriate to raise this taxon to the rank of a species.
