Remarks. The allotype is currently preserved at the Hungarian Museum of Natural History in Budapest, after Móczár examination. Móczár (1997a) synonymized Cleptes antakyensis based on a paratype and other topotypical specimens collected by J. Schmidt and deposited in Linz. However, he later received Linsenmaier’s holotype and allotype in 1998 for further examination (see identification labels). Kimsey & Bohart (1991) included Cleptes antakiensis Linsenmaier in the nitidulus species group. Móczár (1997a: 37) synonymized Cleptes antakyensis with Cleptes (Leiocleptes) femoralis Mocsáry, 1890 .
