Type: Unknown.
Note: This name was published in 1826, not 1824 as stated in some references. The 1824 copy of Hoffmannsegg’s work only treats Cleome violacea . It is not clear what this name refers to, it has never seen usage in taxonomic treatments, and no type material has been located to allow for definitive application of the name.
