Sep 1898, Peche s.n. ( AMES) ; 21 Sep 1927, Swinhoe 127 ( K) . Reported from Tanintharyi Region by Kress et al. (2003: 69), but we have not seen material from this area .
Distribution:— Myanmar, Thailand, Indochina, Peninsular Malaysia and Borneo.
Note:— For the possibly synonymous Aerides dasycarpum , a drawing of the plant might exist in John Day’s scrapbooks for 1865 as it was cultivated by John Stone (who was the gardener for John Day).
