Acosmetura emarginata Liu, 2000: 221 View in CoL ; Liu & Zhou, 2007: 190; Liu, Zhou & Bi, 2008: 761; Bian, Kou & Shi, 2014: 241; Wang, 2020: 328.

Sinocyrtaspiodea longicercus Shi & Bian, 2013: 390 View in CoL ; Wang, 2020: 328. [nec. Shi & Bian, 2013]

Description. Male. Body small and stout. Head short and stout. Fastigium verticis conical, apex rounded, protruding forward, furrowed in the midline. Eyes globular, protruding laterally. Apical segment of maxillary palpus slightly longer than subapical one, apex swollen.

Pronotum short, anterior margin straight, posterior margin obtusely rounded, transversal sulci indistinct; metazona slightly raised, posterior area of lateral lobe narrowing, without humeral sinus.

All femora without spines on ventral surfaces. Procoxa with a spine, protibia with 5 pairs of short spines on ventral surface; tibial tympana ovoid, open on both sides. Mesotibia with 5 pairs of short spines on ventral surface. Posttibia with 21–27 spines on inner and outer sides of dorsal surface, a pair of dorsal apical spurs and 2 pairs of ventral apical spurs.

Tegmina brachypterous, concealed beneath pronotum or slightly surpassing posterior margin of pronotum; hind wings absent.

Posterior margin of tenth abdominal tergite with a triangular concavity. Cerci cylindrical, hirsute, relatively straight and long, apex of cercus with a small incurved denticle. Epiproct tongue-shaped. Basal area of subgenital plate broad, middle part narrow and distinctly curved dorsad, lateral angles of posterior margin acute, the middle of posterior margin protruding backward, without styli. Genitalia sclerotized and exposed, basal area broad, narrowing, apex truncate or rounded.

Female. Pronotum shorter than male, not reaching posterior margin of first abdominal tergite, metazoan flat, posterior area of lateral lobe narrowing, without humeral sinus. Tegmina concealed beneath pronotum, laterally; hind wings absent. Middle of posterior margin of tenth abdominal tergite concave. Cerci cylindrical, comparatively long, apical one-third suddenly narrow, apex acute. Epiproct triangular. Subgenital plate nearly hexagon, longer than wide, posterior margin concave. Ovipositor relatively broad, slightly upcurved, dorsal and ventral margins smooth.

Coloration. Body green when alive. Eyes dark brown. Disc of pronotum with a longitudinal broad brown stripe, outer margins with narrow longitudinal yellow stripes. Dorsal surface of abdomen with a longitudinal brown stripe, reaching posterior margin of tenth abdominal tergite. All tibial spines and spurs with apices brown.

Measurements (mm). Body: ♂ 8.8–10.4, ♀ 8.6–10.1; pronotum: ♂ 3.6–4.4, ♀ 3.6–4.0; postfemora: ♂ 8.5–9.8, ♀ 8.6–9.5; ovipositor: 4.6–5.3.

Discussion. This species is very similar in size and body shape to Sinocyrtaspiodea longicercus Shi & Bian, 2013 in female. Chuanicosmetura emarginata comb. nov. differs from Sinocyrtaspiodea . longicercus in: male subgenital plate without styli, middle part distinctly curved dorsad; pronotum not obviously projecting caudad; apex of cercus with a small incurved denticle.

There is geographic variation in male genitalia of Chuanicosmetura emarginata . The apex of genitalia is truncate in specimens collected from Zhougongshan, Ya’an, Sichuan, China ( Fig.1C View FIGURE 1 ), and the apex of genitalia is rounded in specimens collected from Emeishan, Sichuan, China and Zhaotong, Yunnan, China ( Fig.1F View FIGURE 1 ).
