First Record for the State of Tlaxcala ( Fig. 4 View Fig ). “ Mexico: Tlaxcala , La Malinche volcano, carretera Perimetral Guadalupe-Estación científica, 19°17′22.17′′N, 98°1′38.28′′W, 3020 m, Pinus forest, flight interception trap, 24-IX-2016, E. Gutiérrez-Meza col.” (3♂, 1♀). Same data, except: “ 27-VIII-2016 ” (1♀) GoogleMaps .

Previous Records ( Fig. 4 View Fig ). Rodríguez et al. (2018) included the same Mexican states that were cited by Chani-Posse (2006), in addition to Hidalgo and Querétaro, but the source of the records for these two states is unknown, since in addition to citing Chani-Posse (2006), Rodríguez et al. (2018) cited the work of Navarrete-Heredia et al. (2002), in which C. mexicanus had not yet been described and all the records were given for C. flagrans . Therefore, from this reference ( Rodríguez et al. 2018), here we only take as valid the record that directly originates from the study area, which was Cerro García in the state of Jalisco. Mexico: Chiapas (Reserva de la Biósfera La Sepultura, Villa Corso-Ejido Sierra Morena), Colima (Minatitlán: El Terrero), Durango (14.5 mi SW La Ciudad), Guerrero (63.2 km NE de Atoyac de Álvarez), Estado de México (Tenancingo), Jalisco (Atenquique: 13 mi W; Autlán: 9.5 mi SW, Sierra de Manantlán; Cerro de García (between the municipalities of Teocuitatlán de Corona, Tuxcueca and Jocotepec, 20°10′0.12′′N, 103°20′60.00′′W); Ciudad Guzmán: El Floripondio; Nevado de Colima: E slope; Mascota: El Atajo, km 15 a San Sebastián del Oeste; Tecolotlán: Sierra de Quila; Tequila: Tequila volcano), Morelos (Tlayacapan: San José de los Laureles), Oaxaca (17 mi S de Miahuatlán and 2 km W de Calpulalpan, Ixtlán de Juárez) and Veracruz (3 km S de Xalapa) ( Chani-Posse 2006; Rodríguez et al. 2018).

Biogeographic Comment. This species is endemic to Mexico, mainly distributed in the Mexican mountain component, which includes the majority of taxa endemic to the country ( Morrone and Márquez 2003).
