This Neotropical lichen is known from Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, French Guiana, Panama, Peru and Venezuela ( Vainio 1890; López-Figueiras 1986; Hekking & Sipman 1988; Thor 1990). In Bolivia it has been known only from a single 19 th century record ( Thor 1990).
