Charitojoppa gracilis HEINRICH 1975 , new

Material: S Vietnam, Dong Nai, Cat Tien N.P., drug trail, Mal. traps, c 100 m, 1 9-30.iv.2007, M.P. Quy & N. T. Manh, RMNH`07 (Leiden).

: Body length 11 mm. Flagellum with 35 flagellomeres, without tyloids and with an ivory stripe on flagellomeres 9-22. Hind femur about 4.1 times as long as high, yellowish-brown and darkened in the apical 0.25. Scutellum with two sublateral longitudinal ridges forming a tongue-like central prominence. Structure and coloration otherwise as described for the female (HEINRICH 1975: 483-484).

This male resembles the one of Ch. coerula (CAMERON), but differs by its less slender hind femur (5.1 times as long as high in Ch. coerula, see fig. 6 View Figs 1-9 ) without a sharp border between the light base and dark apex ( fig. 5 View Figs 1-9 ) and the form of the scutellum (in Ch. coerulea with a tooth-like prominence centrally).
