Notes:—We have found two specimens that perfectly match the protologue of Chamitis trifurcata in collection site and vegetative morphology, and were collected by Banks. From these, the one selected as the lectotype is most abundant in material. Both duplicate specimens are sterile, however, the drawing published as part of the protologue, that also constitute part of the original material, shows reproductive structures.
