Chamaepinnularia thermophila (Manguin) C.E. Wetzel & Ector , comb. nov. ( Figs 3–19 )

Basionym: Navicula thermophila Manguin in Bourrelly & Manguin, Algues d’eau douce de la Guadeloupe, p. 60, pl. 3, fig. 59. 1952.

Type:— GUADELOUPE. Basse-Terre (Lectotypus hic designatus: P!, slide AD7747, “ Source chaude de ‘Bouillante’, située au niveau de la mer, dans le secteur pierreux et aride du littoral occidental, ‘ sous le vent ’; pluviométrie: 1m. 50 par an; eau à salinité forte, à temperature de 50–60° au point de jaillissement (11/2/36) ”, slide made from sample n° 24, leg. P. Allorge, in Muséum National d’Histoire Naturelle, Paris) .
