Type Locality: Brazil, Pará, Cametá, on banks of Rio Tocantins.
Vernacular Names: Silvery Marmoset.
Distribution: N and C Brazil, E Bolivia.
Conservation: CITES – Appendix II; IUCN – Least Concern as Mico argentata .
Discussion: Subgenus Mico . Includes emiliae , melanura and leucippe according to Hershkovitz (1977:436), and intermedius (Ávila-Pires, 1985). De Vivo (1985) recognized emiliae (Thomas, 1920) as a full species; Coimbra-Filho (1990) recognized emiliae and intermedius as distinct species; Groves (2001 c) recognized all these and others, subsequently described, as distinct species.
