Etymology: Named after the country where it was collected, Oman

Saprobic on stems of Hibiscus plants.Asexual morph on PDA: Hyphae hyaline to pale brown or grayish, branched, smooth, septate, Conidiophores (79–)97–289(–364) × (6–)7–9(–10) um (av. = 204, SD = 38, n = 30; av. = 8, SD = 1, n = 30), usually arising singly or in small groups, rarely branched, simple or with a single dichotomous branch, septate, straight or flexuous, smooth, sometimes geniculate at upper part, pale brown, size of cells decrease towards apex. Conidiogenous nodes distinct, smooth or verrucose, brown. Conidia (47–)74–129(–145) × (13–)14.5–17.5(–19) um (av. = 102, SD = 15, n =30; av. = 16, SD = 1.5, n = 30), pale to mid dark brown, smooth, slightly curved, fusiform, (6–)8(–11) distoseptate. Hilum distinct, 3–5 um wide, germination bipolar. Sexual morph. undetermined.

Culture characteristics: Colonies on PDA growing rapidly, reaching 8.0 cm in 7 days at 25 °C, velvety, fluffy, white when young, olivaceous when mature with papillae or undulate margin; producing abundant conidia on WA in 1 wk.

Material examined: OMAN, Muscat: Sultan Qaboos University Botanical Garden, on dead leaves of Hibiscus rosa-sinensis ( Malvaceae ), 25 May 2017, SA Dughaishi (SQU H-102, holotype), ex-type culture SQUCC 13828); ibid., Aug 2017, AA Ghafri (SQU H-103, paratype), (culture SQUCC 13827).
