Notes
Garcia-Par ǵ s (1998) recently resurrected a second species, B. insignis Charpentier, 1818 , endemic to southern Spain. It had been considered a variety of majalis and its species status requires further study.
Berberomeloe is a parasitoid of Anthophoridae ( Anthophora, Eucera ) and Andrenidae (Andreana) bees, and perhaps also of Megachilidae (Osmia) .
