Diagnosis. Profemora in males lacking spine and protibiae lacking apical spine; maxillary palpomere 4 slender, about six times as long as wide; palpomere 3 conspicuously transverse with projecting distal external margin; antennomeres 5–7 subequal in length; aedeagus with symmetrical median lobe with undivided apex, endophallic sclerites forming two large lateral groups in median region, parameres with rounded apices and lacking apical and subapical setae.
Description. Body bicoloured, head and pronotum pitchy black, elytra and abdomen reddish-brown, maxillary palpi, antennae and legs brown, maxillary palpi darker than other appendages. Body length 2.08 mm, maximum width 0.72 mm.
Head about as long as wide. External distal margin of maxillary palpomere 2 evenly rounded, not projecting; palpomere 3 strongly transverse, quadrilateral; palpomere 4 slender, 0.30 mm long, about 6 times as long as wide.
Antennae 1.00 mm long, scape about twice as long as pedicel; pedicel slightly longer than antennomere 3; antennomeres 3, 8 and 9 subequal in length; antennomeres 5–7 equal in length; antennomere 7 1.50 times as long as 8; antennomere 9 transverse, 1.45 times as wide as long; 10 transverse, about 1.1 times as wide as long and 1.65 times as long as 9; antennomere 11 0.21 mm long, asymmetrical with deep basal notch.
Pronotum slightly transverse, 1.07 times as wide as long, 1.08 times as long and 1.15 times as wide as head.
Elytra 1.43 times as long as pronotum, 1.13 times as wide as long.
First visible abdominal tergite (IV) with well-defined basal impression; discal carinae long, reaching basal third of tergite.
Profemora and protibiae unmodified, lacking spines.
Aedeagus ( Figs 20–21 View FIGURES 17–30 ) in dorsal view symmetrical, 0.46 mm long, apex of median lobe undivided; endophallic sclerites forming two lateral groups in median region; parameres with rounded apices, lacking setae.
Etymology. Named after Peter S. Grimbacher, a collector of the holotype.
Distribution. New Caledonia, Southern Province.
Remarks. Specimens of this species were collected by a flight intercept trap and by sifting leaf litter.
