Diagnosis. MALE ( Fig. 36 View FIGURES 36 – 50. 36 – 42 ). Black. Mandible with five apical teeth ( Fig. 37 View FIGURES 36 – 50. 36 – 42 ). Clypeus with angulate median lobe. Antennal scrobe wholly carinate. Frons coriaceous. Vertex slightly convex. Temple with carinae since corner of vertex up to malar space, its outer side subfoveolate ( Fig. 38 View FIGURES 36 – 50. 36 – 42 ). Pronotal disc strongly coriaceous; anterior corner angulate and very prominent; anterior carina thick, with pair of conspicuous teeth; median carina conspicuous, bifurcates anteriorly, touching posterior margin; lateral margin carinate, although carina runs inside disc posteriorly, not touching mesoscutum; posterior margin paralleled by series of foveae. Scutellar pit transverse. Mesopleuron with subtegular groove wide; anterior fovea subquadrate; upper fovea elliptical, anterior margin undefined; lower fovea with upper margin mostly absent ( Fig. 39 View FIGURES 36 – 50. 36 – 42 ). Genitalia ( Figs 40, 41 View FIGURES 36 – 50. 36 – 42 ): paramere inserted into basiparamere mostly on dorsal side, wide with rounded apex, dorsal margin slightly convex, ventral almost straight; cuspis divided into two arms, but arms very closed each other, ventral arm slightly longer than dorsal arm, both arms slender with rounded apex, cuspis apex not aligned with paramere apex; aedeagus bottle-shaped, its apex almost aligned with cuspis apex, apical half distinctly narrower than basal half, basal margin rounded; ventral surface with conspicuous projection ventrad ( Fig. 42 View FIGURES 36 – 50. 36 – 42 ); apodeme with base very dilated outward. FEMALE unknown.
Distribution. Costa Rica, Panama, Ecuador, Brazil (Pará, *Amazonas, *Bahia, *Rio de Janeiro), Peru, Bolivia.
Remarks: Kieffer (1910b) described this species based on the analysis of 4 ♂. I was not able to find the female as pointed out in his original description. He did not designate the holotype, but specimen #6747 of Baker collection has the Kieffer´s typical large red label with his handwritten. So it is clear that this specimen was described as type instead of the absence of designation, and I assumed this specimen as the lectotype in present designation, and the other three specimens as paralectotypes.
